  DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC EDUCATION

 Founded in 1996, our department started to admit students in 1998-1999 academic year. The Department of Music Education is located in Block E of the Faculty of Education in the Anafartalar Campus in the city centre. Our department, which aims to train qualified music teachers in accordance with the contemporary music understanding drawn by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in music education in Turkey, gave its first graduates in the 2002-2003 academic year.

 

Our Department of Music Education aims to train qualified and open-to-development music teachers who have trained themselves according to the age requirements; the duration of education is 4 years, and the language is Turkish. Scientific and artistic activities such as seminars, conferences, workshops, concerts and recitals organized with the participation of experts during the academic year, as well as the concerts of the "Department Choir" and "Department Orchestra" organized every year with the participation of our students, recitals of faculty members, chamber music ensembles and student concerts are aimed to develop the scientific and artistic personalities of our students within the framework of training versatile music teachers. Two separate programs, "Music Teaching Undergraduate" and "Music Teaching Master's Degree with Thesis", are in our Department. 

To receive education in the Department of Music Education, after obtaining a certain success score from TYT, it is necessary to win the particular talent exam, which includes the dimensions of musical hearing, musical playing and musical singing. It is very important for candidates who prefer the Department of Music Education to love children, be patient and tolerant, have communication skills, and be a guide who can provide appropriate learning environments.

To graduate from the undergraduate program, students are required to be successful in a minimum of 240 ECTS credits by taking at least DD / S grade from all courses determined in the curriculum, to have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, and to complete their compulsory internships within the specified period and characteristics. Students who complete the program receive the title of "Music Teacher" with a bachelor's degree. Students who graduate from the department work as teachers in public or private schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education; they can have an academic career with the opportunity of graduate education and work as art consultants in various public and private institutions/organizations.
There are 4 faculty members and 10 lecturers in the Department of Music Education.

 

 

 

   DEPARTMENT OF ART-CRAFTS EDUCATION

Our department was established in 1997-1998 within the framework of "Restructuring of Education Faculties". Our education and training area is carried out in Anafartalar Campus.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE:
The aim of the program is to train teachers who have the competence to be an art teacher, who can evaluate art in terms of its impact on history and social culture, who have the ability to love art, who are constructive and empathetic in human relations, who have sufficient equipment to transfer knowledge, and at the same time, who can give direction to our art, who follow the present, and who are capable of sharing fresh information.

MAJOR COURSES TAUGHT IN THE PROGRAM:
In our department; There are workshops of Main Art, Pattern, Modeling and Sculpture, Printmaking, Design and Writing. Ninety-eight students are studying in the applied courses given in our workshops, and our students have the opportunity to work in comfortable and bright spaces.
In the MAJOR WORKSHOP course, students have the opportunity to develop themselves technically and take steps to produce works that reflect their original perception styles.
In the DESEN course, the student develops the ability to take measurements, to establish proportions between objects and objects and to observe.
In the BASIC DESIGN course, the student learns the rules of composition design, while in the WRITING course, he/she learns the types of writing and spelling rules with the awareness of order and discipline.
The SCULPTURE and MODELING course gives three-dimensional perception, shaping disciplines and techniques.
The printmaking course covers the techniques of reproducing original paintings with different materials (Linol, Zinc, Wood, etc.).
Educational Sciences and other theoretical courses are held in our Seminar Hall and classrooms.
After graduation, our students graduate as Painting and Business Education teacher candidates. The grade level they will get from the KPSS exam will fulfill the condition of being able to do their profession.
Cultural and Artistic Activities: As the Department of Painting and Art Education, at the end of the academic year, our students open exhibitions consisting of printmaking and canvas paintings. Our students participate in various competitions with their personal efforts under the guidance of our announcements. Senior students open group or solo exhibitions with their initiatives. On certain dates, we organize practical performance workshops with invited art educators.
